Io Manolessou is Senior Researcher and Director of the Research Centre for Modern Greek dialects of the Academy of Athens. She has published widely on many areas of historical linguistics, specifically on the history of Greek, diachronic morphosyntax, historical dialectology and historical lexicography. She is a co-author of the Cambridge Grammar of Medieval and Early Modern Greek, as well as (co-)editor of the two latest volumes of the Historical Dictionary of the Academy of Athens.
